Let me tell you about Jada Pink It....

Hi, I'm Jada Pink It and I love to play fetch.  I have a little rubber ball and bone that I will bring to you to throw.  I'll even nudge it onto your couch so you can toss it for me.  My foster siblings are very nice and I like being around them although I prefer to follow my foster parents all over the house.  I'll cuddle with you and sleep right beside you in bed.  My potty habits are really good now that I know where the doors to the outside potty place are.  I have never made a mess in the house....foster mom says she now knows my "antsy dance" and "whine"  when I have to go potty and will take me out. Because of my recent bladder surgery I do need to go potty every 2-3 hours so I will need to depend on you to take me out frequently.  I love to eat, even if it is a special dog food that helps keep me free of any more bladder stones.  AND....I went to the dentist last week and had my teeth cleaned and polished.  No cavities for me (Yay!!!} so I still have all my teeth, lol.

I'm still a little weary of strangers when they come into the house, so I shouldn't be around young children, I prefer a calm home with someone that has time to let me be a real companion and will spoil me. I am a good protector and will bark if someone is at the door to let you know.  Foster mom says I still need more socialization so I can get used to strangers.  But usually, it only takes one day for me to get to know you, then I know I can trust you and you will be my friend. I will follow you everywhere you go, and I promise not to be a "bolter". I will not run out the door without you.  I do know some commands and know my name and will come to you when you call me.  I also like "belly" rubs, they make me feel so good. Car rides are great and I love my car seat where I can settle down and enjoy the ride. Take me for a walk and I'll be right there with you.  I only pull if I see something I want to chase, lol......."watch out squirrels, I'm pretty fast!"

If you can be there for me, I will be there for you.....

Jada Pink It is staying with Sue and John in Harrington, DE.

KEEP THESE FACTS IN MIND:
1. Yorkies do not usually get along well with small children and can be injured by small children, even ones who love them. Be aware of this and keep them apart. 2. Yorkies can be very difficult (nearly impossible) to housebreak. If you are gone for more than 3 hours at a time, the dog will have to have access to wee wee pads, or need someone to stop in to let him out to potty.
3. We almost NEVER get a puppy (less than one year old) in Yorkie Rescue. If only a puppy will do, check the Yorkshire Terrier Club of America website for a recommended breeder - never buy over the Internet, or from a newspaper ad or a petstore. The heartache you save will be immeasureable.
4. There is no such thing as a "teacup" Yorkie, so don't be misled by such a description. LEARN about the breed BEFORE you decide to adopt.
5. You will need to make arrangements to drive and meet the dog at the foster home which can be in New Jersey, western PA, Maryland,  etc. The dog's biography lists where the dog is fostering. We want you to meet the dog with your family and your dog, if you have one. This is a requirement for adoption.

WHAT IS THE ADOPTION FEE?
Adoption donations generally vary from dog to dog, it depends on the health, the age and the size of the dog.

Young Yorkies will have a higher adoption donation since they are the most highly sought after and they help to cover the costs of the older dogs who have a harder time finding a loving home. It is sad but true that people overwhelming demand very young dogs when they would be infinitely happier with a mellow adult.

 ADOPTION AREA

Save A Yorkie Rescue prefers to adopt only in the PA, NJ, western NY, DE, MD, VA, some CT area's. If you are in the NYC area or near Long Island, there is a Yorkie Rescue closer to you.

Be aware that you will be asked to drive to meet and pick up your dog.
