Jack B Nimble is available for adoption.

He is 10 years old and weighs 12 lbs.

His adoption fee is $500.00.

Introducing Jack B Nimble, we welcomed Jack to our home as our newest foster March 23rd. Jack rabbit is also a great name for Jack, he’s fast, and quick to move out of your way if needed. He was a surrender from a home that rescued him when he happened to be in a difficult situation. Not sure of the first home, but the young couple who felt they needed to take him in have 3 very small children and another on the way. He was also not appreciated by the family’s older lab, and they felt he would do so much better in a quieter home. Jack is approx 10 years old and was quite nervous during the first part of his trip home. He finally fell asleep out of exhaustion and when we got home introductions were made with Gia and Gertie. I believe all in all the initial introduction was a success. Since he’s been here Gertie has displayed her alpha female personality and were closely watching as all he wants to do is be friends with both of our dogs. Jack is a total sweetheart, perfectly potty trained, walks very well on a leash and loves to be outside, when he wants to be held he will approach me and put his paws up on the chair so I can help him up. He doesn’t want to be on my lap, but loves sitting and laying next to me. He absolutely loves to eat, gives hand kisses, and I’ve started him both on our bed for sleeping and then I transfer him to a bed next to me on the floor and he is very used to that. I think it’s the best of both worlds for his new family. His favorite way to play is fetch and tug -a-war.He sleeps thru the night and does not have a difficult bone in his little body. The only issue we had in the beginning was once he found his voice he did not want to give it up. We have been working on No Bark for only 2 days and we see a vast improvement. he’s a smart cute little man. He will be going to the vet for his first appt and getting groomed next week. Stay updated for further information on Jack!

Jack is staying with Jan and Tom in Erie Pa.

KEEP THESE FACTS IN MIND:
1. Yorkies do not usually get along well with small children and can be injured by small children, even ones who love them. Be aware of this and keep them apart. 2. Yorkies can be very difficult (nearly impossible) to housebreak. If you are gone for more than 3 hours at a time, the dog will have to have access to wee wee pads, or need someone to stop in to let him out to potty.
3. We almost NEVER get a puppy (less than one year old) in Yorkie Rescue. If only a puppy will do, check the Yorkshire Terrier Club of America website for a recommended breeder - never buy over the Internet, or from a newspaper ad or a petstore. The heartache you save will be immeasureable.
4. There is no such thing as a "teacup" Yorkie, so don't be misled by such a description. LEARN about the breed BEFORE you decide to adopt.
5. You will need to make arrangements to drive and meet the dog at the foster home which can be in New Jersey, western PA, Maryland,  etc. The dog's biography lists where the dog is fostering. We want you to meet the dog with your family and your dog, if you have one. This is a requirement for adoption.

WHAT IS THE ADOPTION FEE?
Adoption donations generally vary from dog to dog, it depends on the health, the age and the size of the dog.

Young Yorkies will have a higher adoption donation since they are the most highly sought after and they help to cover the costs of the older dogs who have a harder time finding a loving home. It is sad but true that people overwhelming demand very young dogs when they would be infinitely happier with a mellow adult.
