She is a tiny little girl who has lost her way.

But she is a sturdy little survivor. She lets the other dogs know that they can't push her around.
Here is what she says:

My rescue Mom named me Abby and I liked it and answer to it so my foster
mom decided to keep it.

I was found under a bush all matted and dirty and cold. Someone spotted
me and rescued me. They cleaned me all up and I just love to be with
people and kids. I like to watch tv too.

My foster mom says I am a very good girl and don't even chase the cats which is a good thing I hear. I love to ride in the car and go for walks too although I am not crazy
about wet grass but what yorkie is? I love everyone and don't even bark
much. I am on my foster moms lap right now and this is what makes me the
happiest little girl in the world.

I LOVE SITTING ON SOMEONES LAP. I am just an itty bitty little thing and only weigh 4.5 lbs- light as a feather! I will sleep in a crate at night but would rather be in bed
with someone but I don't fuss at all.

I DO NOT LIKE OTHER DOGS - AT ALL, not a bit! I don't want to be around them. I want to be an only dog - with you!

I know if I wait someone will love
me as much as I love them and I have a WHOLE BUNCH OF LOVE in this
little body. So if you are cold this winter and would like a beautiful
little designer "lap warmer" I'm your girl!!! See you soon!

PS. I am a little alpha female and really have trouble sharing your lap with other
dogs but I am fine with humans.

Abby is vacationing in Lancaster, PA with Mary Ellen. Please put your application in and send your donation by Paypal so we can begin to process your application.

Is Not Good with Dogs

Save A Yorkie Rescue, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) qualified non-profit organization operating on donations from Yorkie lovers who care. Please help by donating your tax deductible donations.

OR

mail your check or money order to Save A Yorkie Rescue  2650 Shillington Road, Sinking Spring, PA 19608

YOUR generosity is appreciated!

KEEP THESE FACTS IN MIND:
1. Yorkies do not usually get along well with small children and can be injured by small children, even ones who love them. Be aware of this and keep them apart.
2. Yorkies can be very difficult (nearly impossible) to housebreak. If you are gone for more than 3 hours at a time, the dog will have to have access to wee wee pads, or need someone to stop in to let him out to potty.
3. We almost NEVER get a puppy (less than one year old) in Yorkie Rescue. If only a puppy will do, ask us for a recommended breeder - never buy over the Internet, from a local newspaper ad or a petstore. The heartache you save will be immeasureable.
4. There is no such thing as a "teacup" Yorkie, so don't be misled by such a description. LEARN about the breed BEFORE you decide to adopt.

5. You will need to make arrangements to drive and meet the dog at the foster home which can be in Long Island, or PA, or Maryland, etc. The dog's biography lists where the dog is fostering. We want you to meet the dog with your family and your dog, if you have one. This is a requirement for adoption.

WHAT IS THE ADOPTION FEE?
Adoption donations generally range from $250-$450 depending on the health, age and size of the dog.

Young Yorkies will have a higher adoption donation since they are the most highly sought after and they help to cover the costs of the older dogs who have a harder time being adopted.

Why does SAVE A YORKIE RESCUE charge that amount for a rescued dog?

THE AVERAGE COST FOR EACH YORKIE BEFORE IT GOES TO IT'S NEW FOREVER HOME IS OVER $600.00 ! ! !

This includes (if needed) but is not limited to:

a Vet exam, bringing the dog up to date on vaccinations (most dogs have little to no shots when brought in), a fecal check, a heartworm check, a lyme disease check, food, spay/neuter, a dental cleaning for severe problems, treatment for mange, grooming, treatment for ear mites...some dogs require even more. If you had to pay for all of this, you would be spending many hundreds of dollars too!

We charge a higher fee for the younger healthier dogs to help off-set the cost involved with the older dogs that come into the rescue.

ADOPTION AREA

Save A Yorkie Rescue prefers to adopt only in the PA, NJ, NY, DE, VA, CT area's, but will consider homes in nearby surrounding states. Be aware that you will be asked to drive to meet and pick up your dog.
