Ricco is available for adoption.

He is 10 years old and weighs 7 pounds.

His adoption fee is $350.00.

Ricco is just 10 years young and just the cutest little bundle of 7 lbs. you have ever seen.  Ricco acts more like a 3 or 4 year old, full of spunk and ready to play.  We have not figured out yet if he is happiest playing with his toys or being held or just sitting on your lap or sitting right next to you.  These are all of his favorite things. 

When Foster Mom goes up the stairs for just a few minutes there Ricco is at the bottom, of the very short 3 step staircase, waiting for her to return.  Before she can even get to the bottom off he runs to grab one of his toys and then return  to make sure he has it in hand (in mouth) to present it to her.  It is the cutest thing ever.

Ricco equally loves Men and Woman as he always shows both Foster Mom and Foster Dad what a sweet loving boy he is.  He just loves being snuggled in Foster Dad’s arms holding him close to his chest.   He gets along great with both his human and his “4 legged” fur baby sisters wonderfully.   Ricco just gets along with everyone and has lots of love to share.  If you have love to give Ricco will take it, double it  and give it back forever.

This little Man is just as sweet as can be.  He is ready for his new furever family.  We are looking for a family where someone is home most of the time.  A fenced yard would be a big plus but not a must.  He has to have a family that will walk him several times a day as he loves exploring the great outdoors.  Ricco is a very special little Yorkie and will do great in a home with lots of time and lots of love to give him.  He will give you tons of love and joy like you could not even imagine from such a small little soul.

KEEP THESE FACTS IN MIND:
1. Yorkies do not usually get along well with small children and can be injured by small children, even ones who love them. Be aware of this and keep them apart. 2. Yorkies can be very difficult (nearly impossible) to housebreak. If you are gone for more than 3 hours at a time, the dog will have to have access to wee wee pads, or need someone to stop in to let him out to potty.
3. We almost NEVER get a puppy (less than one year old) in Yorkie Rescue. If only a puppy will do, check the Yorkshire Terrier Club of America website for a recommended breeder - never buy over the Internet, or from a newspaper ad or a petstore. The heartache you save will be immeasureable.
4. There is no such thing as a "teacup" Yorkie, so don't be misled by such a description. LEARN about the breed BEFORE you decide to adopt.
5. You will need to make arrangements to drive and meet the dog at the foster home which can be in New Jersey, western PA, Maryland,  etc. The dog's biography lists where the dog is fostering. We want you to meet the dog with your family and your dog, if you have one. This is a requirement for adoption.

WHAT IS THE ADOPTION FEE?
Adoption donations generally vary from dog to dog, it depends on the health, the age and the size of the dog.

Young Yorkies will have a higher adoption donation since they are the most highly sought after and they help to cover the costs of the older dogs who have a harder time finding a loving home. It is sad but true that people overwhelming demand very young dogs when they would be infinitely happier with a mellow adult. 

 

 ADOPTION AREA

Save A Yorkie Rescue prefers to adopt only in the PA, NJ, western NY, DE, MD, VA, some CT area's. If you are in the NYC area or near Long Island, there is a Yorkie Rescue closer to you. 

Be aware that you will be asked to drive to meet and pick up your dog.
