Oh Scarlet is available for adoption.

She is 7 years old and weighs 9lbs.

Her adoption fee is $350.00.

Oh Scarlet, Oh Scarlet how you have bloomed.  This little flower came into rescue so frightened and so untrusting.  She was yet another puppy mill darling girl that knew no life other than the crate she lived in with the purpose of giving life to others.

Miss Scarlet is now learning to enjoy life outside of the crate.  She loves to go on walks with her foster Mom and loves to meet new people.  Miss Scarlet is a bit of a flirt as she seems to win over the attention of everyone she meets.  She loves to go to the College Campus in her foster Mom’s home town and just stroll around and meet new friends.

Miss Scarlet is working very hard on her potty habits.  She is really trying to make foster Mommy so proud of her, and foster Mommy IS really proud of her.   She uses her pee pads inside, and is learning to go outside.  For a little Yorkie that has never felt grass under her little Yorkie feet this is all new.  It is all new and all wonderful for her.  In less than 2 weeks she has learned that there is an outside to go potty in.  Hey, she didn’t know anything but the inside of a crate before her life was turned upside down.  And upside down it is in the best of ways.

Miss Scarlet just LOVES other dogs.  Foster Mom has had 4 legged visitors come hang out with Miss Scarlet and she is just so happy.  Her little tail starts a waggin and she is so anxious to say hi and meet and greet.  She is so very gentle and just wants to welcome the little fur babies into her new world.

Scarlet loves her foster Mom so very much and will do great in a home where her person is home with her most of the time. She requires love, gentle training and comfort.   She would love and welcome another dog in the home as long as it is a calm gentle dog.

Miss Scarlet is scheduled for her spay and after recovery will be available to go home to her perfect forever family.

Please get your application in for Miss Scarlet, she won’t be around too long.

She is vacationing in Frederick, MD, with Pat and her gang.

KEEP THESE FACTS IN MIND:
1. Yorkies do not usually get along well with small children and can be injured by small children, even ones who love them. Be aware of this and keep them apart. 2. Yorkies can be very difficult (nearly impossible) to housebreak. If you are gone for more than 3 hours at a time, the dog will have to have access to wee wee pads, or need someone to stop in to let him out to potty.
3. We almost NEVER get a puppy (less than one year old) in Yorkie Rescue. If only a puppy will do, check the Yorkshire Terrier Club of America website for a recommended breeder - never buy over the Internet, or from a newspaper ad or a petstore. The heartache you save will be immeasureable.
4. There is no such thing as a "teacup" Yorkie, so don't be misled by such a description. LEARN about the breed BEFORE you decide to adopt.
5. You will need to make arrangements to drive and meet the dog at the foster home which can be in New Jersey, western PA, Maryland,  etc. The dog's biography lists where the dog is fostering. We want you to meet the dog with your family and your dog, if you have one. This is a requirement for adoption.

WHAT IS THE ADOPTION FEE?
Adoption donations generally vary from dog to dog, it depends on the health, the age and the size of the dog.

Young Yorkies will have a higher adoption donation since they are the most highly sought after and they help to cover the costs of the older dogs who have a harder time finding a loving home. It is sad but true that people overwhelming demand very young dogs when they would be infinitely happier with a mellow adult.

 ADOPTION AREA

Save A Yorkie Rescue prefers to adopt only in the PA, NJ, western NY, DE, MD, VA, some CT area's. If you are in the NYC area or near Long Island, there is a Yorkie Rescue closer to you.

Be aware that you will be asked to drive to meet and pick up your dog.
