Prudence is available for adoption.

She is 9 years old and weighs 11.3 lbs.

Her adoption fee is $350.00.

Pru is a very low maintenance girl.

She loves to sit with you and if allowed she will make herself comfortable right up against you in the chair. Her favorite spot is smooshed between you and the arm of the chair. And if there’s not enough room she will sit on the arm of the chair. She just loves to be pet and if you're not careful you will get a bunch of kisses. She reminds me of an ant eater, her little tongue is just so fast and she’s just so happy to be sneaking in a few kisses.

She will follow you everywhere and enjoys getting “pretty” every morning. That consists of getting her face washed and getting her hair brushed and when she’s done she gives me a whole bunch of kiss’s thanking me. I know she’s telling me she feels good now and can start her day. She doesn't have any form of separation anxiety and has never had an accident in the house. If she needs something she will stare at you and if you don't pay attention to her she will bark at you. I then ask her if she needs to go pee potty and off we go. Like I said no accidents.

She gets along with all dogs (small and large) and cats. But her favorites are humans. To be completely honest she LOVES LOVES men the most.

Pru doesn’t have any food aggression and really doesn’t play with toys or chew on bones. Again she just wants to be with you, enjoying you while you are enjoying her.

She likes going for walks and going in the car and gets excited if she sees her leash or harness. She learned to go up my steps to get her harness and leash put on, so I don’t have to bend over, which makes it so much easier. She is very intelligent; she learned that just by watching my dogs do it.

She sleeps quietly in her own doggie bed all night and in the morning knows the first thing we do is go outside pee potty.  When we come back in she runs straight to the kitchen and is ready for her breakfast. She does excellent with routine.

Pru just needs someone to spend time with her and a fur companion would be great so she’s never alone, but not required.

Please fill out an application and call if you have any questions. You won’t be sorry with this wonderful girl she is the best.

She is vacationing with Shona and her gang in Duncansville, PA.

KEEP THESE FACTS IN MIND:
1. Yorkies do not usually get along well with small children and can be injured by small children, even ones who love them. Be aware of this and keep them apart. 2. Yorkies can be very difficult (nearly impossible) to housebreak. If you are gone for more than 3 hours at a time, the dog will have to have access to wee wee pads, or need someone to stop in to let him out to potty.
3. We almost NEVER get a puppy (less than one year old) in Yorkie Rescue. If only a puppy will do, check the Yorkshire Terrier Club of America website for a recommended breeder - never buy over the Internet, or from a newspaper ad or a petstore. The heartache you save will be immeasureable.
4. There is no such thing as a "teacup" Yorkie, so don't be misled by such a description. LEARN about the breed BEFORE you decide to adopt.
5. You will need to make arrangements to drive and meet the dog at the foster home which can be in New Jersey, western PA, Maryland,  etc. The dog's biography lists where the dog is fostering. We want you to meet the dog with your family and your dog, if you have one. This is a requirement for adoption.

WHAT IS THE ADOPTION FEE?
Adoption donations generally vary from dog to dog, it depends on the health, the age and the size of the dog.

Young Yorkies will have a higher adoption donation since they are the most highly sought after and they help to cover the costs of the older dogs who have a harder time finding a loving home. It is sad but true that people overwhelming demand very young dogs when they would be infinitely happier with a mellow adult.

 ADOPTION AREA

Save A Yorkie Rescue prefers to adopt only in the PA, NJ, western NY, DE, MD, VA, some CT area's. If you are in the NYC area or near Long Island, there is a Yorkie Rescue closer to you.

Be aware that you will be asked to drive to meet and pick up your dog.
