Are you looking to adopt a wonderful adult Yorkshire Terrier?

GOOD! You are in the right place! But before we go further we need to ask: 

 1. Have you done your homework on this breed - read a few books on the care and training of a Yorkie (Petco has a few small books that will help), asked questions of good breeders (not the backyard breeders down the street), veterinarians and other Yorkie owners, and found out all you can about this breed? 

If not, start now, before you put in your application. Our dogs have lost everything - home, family, even their name - at least once. We don't want them to bounce from rescue to a home and back again. We want to be sure you know what you are asking for, before you take one of our Yorkies.

We will work with you to try to solve the problem with you or if need be, we will take your Yorkie into our caring hands and find them a new home. Your little one will be well cared for and will  become a litte prince or princess in someone's home. 

Many people are already approved and waiting to take in a Yorkie.

Where do our dogs come from?
Most of our dogs come from ordinary people who can no longer care for their Yorkie for whatever reason. Sometimes they come as strays. Occasionally, local animal shelters who consider rescue organizations like ours, a "last resort", call us to take the Yorkies that no one else will consider adopting -  the blind, the elderly, the diabetic.

Foster Homes
After the dogs are rescued we place them in foster homes until we can find them a permanent home. Because we have already placed them in a home environment, we can tell you a little about their habits and house manners--something you will not know if you adopt from a shelter or kennel.

Will the dog visit the vet before I adopt it?
Our dogs are vetted before being placed. This includes spay/neuter, heartworm test, deworming and vaccinations. The dogs are bathed and groomed. At times, we may rescue a dog which has severe hair loss, a broken leg, is heartworm positive, or has another serious problem. You will receive all the vetting information that we have.
