Just look at me!  Handsome? Yes! Cute as a bug and all fluffed up. I have that very special quizzical look - one ear up and one ear down, oh I am so CUTE CUTE CUTE!!

Let me tell YOU about ME -
I LOVE car rides!  Let's go Mom! I'll ride shotgun - you steer.  Happy Dance! Happy Dance!
I LOVE dinner time - I can tell time, yes I can!  So if you want me to learn a trick - show me what you want me to learn 2 minutes before dinner. I will learn so fast, you will know I am a genius!
I LOVE other dogs!  I NEED a good buddy to show me the ropes and play with me.
I LOVE watching out the window from the top of the couch, guarding the house, alerting you to ferocious squirrels and even delivery men. I will charge the door to meet and greet them with a happy bark - so protect me from getting out unexpectedly with a gate.

I am so special, so unique! One of a kind!   I am a mix of all good things including Yorkies - and something else for spice, but we don't know just what. I'm a glorious mystery of fluffy hair and big eyes.

So if you want me to come home with you - me, the handsome, sweet, smart, most loving little fluff ball in the whole world, please be sure your home will make me happy.
    1. Do you have time for me?  So we can go for walks every day - several times. Are you active and walk now?  Do you love to get outside and show off your moves?  No couch potatoes for this fine dog.
    2. Do you have another friendly dog now?  I really like to commune with a friend and by watching them, learn where things are, when dinner time is served... I really need a best dog friend.
    3. A fenced yard would be glorious but no substitute for walking every day. But since I am so fast, to keep me safe, a fenced yard will allow me to get out there without getting TOO FAR out there.

I am all ready now - all my procedures done, teeth white, hair groomed.  I am ready for you. Please look at my picture, look in my eyes and when you smile, you'll know. You want me just as much as I want to come home to you. I love people! I love dogs! I am ready! Let's do the Happy Dance together, Mom!

Macx is vacationing in Delran, NJ, with David.

KEEP THESE FACTS IN MIND:
1. Yorkies do not usually get along well with small children and can be injured by small children, even ones who love them. Be aware of this and keep them apart. 2. Yorkies can be very difficult (nearly impossible) to housebreak. If you are gone for more than 3 hours at a time, the dog will have to have access to wee wee pads, or need someone to stop in to let him out to potty.
3. We almost NEVER get a puppy (less than one year old) in Yorkie Rescue. If only a puppy will do, check the Yorkshire Terrier Club of America website for a recommended breeder - never buy over the Internet, or from a newspaper ad or a petstore. The heartache you save will be immeasureable.
4. There is no such thing as a "teacup" Yorkie, so don't be misled by such a description. LEARN about the breed BEFORE you decide to adopt.
5. You will need to make arrangements to drive and meet the dog at the foster home which can be in New Jersey, western PA, Maryland,  etc. The dog's biography lists where the dog is fostering. We want you to meet the dog with your family and your dog, if you have one. This is a requirement for adoption.

WHAT IS THE ADOPTION FEE?
Adoption donations generally vary from dog to dog, it depends on the health, the age and the size of the dog.

Young Yorkies will have a higher adoption donation since they are the most highly sought after and they help to cover the costs of the older dogs who have a harder time finding a loving home. It is sad but true that people overwhelming demand very young dogs when they would be infinitely happier with a mellow adult.

 ADOPTION AREA

Save A Yorkie Rescue prefers to adopt only in the PA, NJ, western NY, DE, MD, VA, some CT area's. If you are in the NYC area or near Long Island, there is a Yorkie Rescue closer to you.

Be aware that you will be asked to drive to meet and pick up your dog.
