Gianna is not available for adoption at this time, she has to gain weight so she can have her medical completed. Gianna is a sweet, two-year-old pup weighing just 3.4 pounds—well below her healthy range of 5 to 6 pounds. She’s currently on a nutritional plan to help her gain weight, and once she maintains a stable weight, her vet will consider scheduling her spay surgery. Despite her tiny size, Gianna has a big personality. She’s food aggressive, which we’re actively working on, and she’s extremely skittish—she often backs away when approached and is afraid of people. This stems from her past, where she and four other dogs were left alone for 12 to 16 hours a day with only each other for comfort. Because of this, Gianna must be placed in a home with other dogs to feel safe and supported.
She’s not available for adoption just yet—she’s still medical pending—but she’s making progress every day. Gianna loves to cuddle, especially with her foster sisters, and she wants to be held all the time. She’s learning how to go up and down stairs and enjoys playing with her toys. Her gentle spirit and resilience shine through, and she’s slowly learning that love and safety are here to stay.
