Learn more about the Yorkshire Terrier Yorkie.
Pretty little Yorkie boy. Ready to come home to you.
Hi there ladies, He’s roughly 6 years old - a perfect age to start a new life - old enough to be settled but young enough to have many years of fun with you - hiking, riding in the car, and just being an active member of your family. He was having a hard time in the shelter environment - the noise, the big dogs, the strangers - he was so scared. He likes to be the only dog in your lap, but has learned to allow another dog to share. Toys and other dogs are new to him so he is learning to enjoy them. He is fully house trained, does not pee or poop in the house and barks near the door when he needs to go. Mitch will sit for food or treats without a verbal command, has no food aggression with other dogs and loves a good dog bed. He sleeps beside his foster dad's bed in a dog bed all night. Mitch is good on a leash, but does NOT like his photo taken which is why he looks so sheepish. He will make a wonderful companion for someone with or without another dog. His behavior with cats is unknown. He is vacationing in Falling Water, WV near Hagerstown, MD, with John and his pack of girls and guys. Young Yorkies will have a higher adoption donation since they are the most highly sought after and they help to cover the costs of the older dogs who have a harder time finding a loving home. It is sad but true that people overwhelming demand very young dogs when they would be infinitely happier with a mellow adult.
