Sick Christmas puppy
Dr. Ron Hodges bought her. Never put in an application. Could not make him. Will never make this mistake again.
Dear tiny Annabelle. She was purchased as a gift for a small child but Annabelle became very ill and had to be hospitalized. The latest news: Annabelle, like many many Yorkie puppies, has a livershunt. What is that? Think of it as a straw that directs the blood around the liver instead of through it. So the blood does not get purified after she eats. As you know, no one can live without a liver that can do its thing. Annabelle is too tiny for the operation she needs so she is on medications and a special diet. In a few weeks, when she is older, she will have the surgery and should be do fine. Annabelle is being fostered by Dr. Ron Hodges of Valley Central Animal Hospital in Whitehall, PA. Dr. Carlos and Dr. Ron have helped many of our Yorkies who had livershunt. IF YOUR dog needs help, call Valley Central. They
Thank you to everyone who has donated to this tiny little darling's vet bills. They have totaled over $585 so far and that is without the surgery itself. But is she worth every penny? YES! Give a penny! Whatever you can... thank you. Happy New Year. AND PS. This is a head's up to everyone - DO NOT BUY A YORKIE PUPPY without having it tested for a livershunt. You will thank me later for this bit of advice. Special Needs: Very ill. livershunt. Save A Yorkie Rescue, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) qualified non-profit organization operating on donations from Yorkie lovers who care. Please help by donating your tax deductible donations. OR mail your check or money order to YOUR generosity is appreciated! Young Yorkies will have a higher adoption donation since they are the most highly sought after and they help to cover the costs of the older dogs who have a harder time finding a loving home. It is sad but true that people overwhelming demand very young dogs when they would be infinitely happier with a mellow adult. ADOPTION AREA Save A Yorkie Rescue prefers to adopt only in the PA, NJ, western NY, DE, MD, VA, some CT area's. If you are in the NYC area or near Long Island, there is a Yorkie Rescue closer to you. |
