OH! Domino!

Dommy is brand spanking new and just settling in. What we can see right off the bat is that he is SMART! He is learning fast and enjoys finding new things in his home. Because he is so intelligent, he will need owners who are just as intelligent so they can keep up with his love of learning. If you are more laid back, this probably is too much Yorkie for you.

He was very scared when he first came in - unsure of where his family went and he has been shuffled back and forth across the country. That is over. Henceforth - he will find ONE home and ONE family and he will stay forever.

He was a wild child his first night but it has only been 3 days and he is already settling in; realizing everything is ok.

As you can tell by his pic, he is getting more comfy in his vacation spa.

No one has taken the time to teach him to enjoy his walks, so he doesn't know not to pull on the leash. We are working with Domino and he learns so fast. We are also teaching him what "no" means - his first owners never had the time or love to show him what good manners are - but he is having a ball learning now.

He is very good with going potty outside and whining when he needs to go out. Hallelujah!!! A Yorkie who learned to be housetrained! This guy is worth his weight in gold!

All Domino knows is just that he wants someone to love him forever! He is a sweet boy but will need someone to be patient with him until he feels comfortable.

He chews alot - it is how very young dogs keep themselves busy - like babys who are teething - it keeps his mind engaged.

He does like to be near his foster mom. He doesn't mind the other 2 Yorkie girls in the house.

He is going to be one sweet boy and we know someone will give him the forever home he deserves!

Dommy is ready and waiting in Pemberton, NJ with Donna. Put in your application and let's get this boy into your home for the cold weather. YAHOO! What a great dog.

KEEP THESE FACTS IN MIND:
1. Yorkies do not usually get along well with small children and can be injured by small children, even ones who love them. Be aware of this and keep them apart. 2. Yorkies can be very difficult (nearly impossible) to housebreak. If you are gone for more than 3 hours at a time, the dog will have to have access to wee wee pads, or need someone to stop in to let him out to potty.
3. We almost NEVER get a puppy (less than one year old) in Yorkie Rescue. If only a puppy will do, check the Yorkshire Terrier Club of America website for a recommended breeder - never buy over the Internet, or from a newspaper ad or a petstore. The heartache you save will be immeasureable.
4. There is no such thing as a "teacup" Yorkie, so don't be misled by such a description. LEARN about the breed BEFORE you decide to adopt.
5. You will need to make arrangements to drive and meet the dog at the foster home which can be in New Jersey, western PA, Maryland,  etc. The dog's biography lists where the dog is fostering. We want you to meet the dog with your family and your dog, if you have one. This is a requirement for adoption.

WHAT IS THE ADOPTION FEE?
Adoption donations generally vary from dog to dog, it depends on the health, the age and the size of the dog.

Young Yorkies will have a higher adoption donation since they are the most highly sought after and they help to cover the costs of the older dogs who have a harder time finding a loving home. It is sad but true that people overwhelming demand very young dogs when they would be infinitely happier with a mellow adult.

 ADOPTION AREA

Save A Yorkie Rescue prefers to adopt only in the PA, NJ, western NY, DE, MD, VA, some CT area's. If you are in the NYC area or near Long Island, there is a Yorkie Rescue closer to you.

Be aware that you will be asked to drive to meet and pick up your dog.
