Clifton Frederick the Third... what a lofty title.. aw, shucks, ma'am... just call me Cliff.

I'm new in town, fresh out of the city.  I'm happy to be out in the fresh air here near Lancaster, PA.  I am having a wonderful time at this estate - fields as far as the eye can see... lots of pretty girls, a cozy lodge where I can make myself right at home. I keep watch out my favorite window for all kinds of excitement - squirrels, ground hogs, leaves blowing.. I check it out and then go out to get closer. It's so much fun here, I hate to leave but - Lady-At-The-Computer, yeah, YOU - I really want to come home. Do you have a fenced yard?  Do you have dogs who like to play too?  Do you have a window just for me?

We should make plans to meet. I'm looking for a permanent place and hopefully you are looking for a young, good looking, playful guy.

I hope someone athletic adopts me = someone who likes to jog or go for very long walks. I love to run and am trying to get the other dogs here to play but aren't ready to do that.

I am a very good natured dog and would do fine with older kids and I don't mind cats either but they don't always like me when I try to play.

I love watching out the window for hours during the day and just watching the leaves and trees and birds and for the neighborhood cat to walk by in the field. Then I run out and down into the yard and bark at whatever I feel needs barked at.

I am like the SENTINEL who sits and watches over the domain. I am so cute when I try to hide things. I love carrying around a stuffed sock and finding a place to hide it.

I am also a sock thief so if they are on the floor I am going to take it and hide it somewhere.

I love to play tug of war with the stuffed sock too and toss the sock too. I just love socks .
Please put in your application. He is vacationing near Lancaster, PA

KEEP THESE FACTS IN MIND:
1. Yorkies do not usually get along well with small children and can be injured by small children, even ones who love them. Be aware of this and keep them apart. 2. Yorkies can be very difficult (nearly impossible) to housebreak. If you are gone for more than 3 hours at a time, the dog will have to have access to wee wee pads, or need someone to stop in to let him out to potty.
3. We almost NEVER get a puppy (less than one year old) in Yorkie Rescue. If only a puppy will do, check the Yorkshire Terrier Club of America website for a recommended breeder - never buy over the Internet, or from a newspaper ad or a petstore. The heartache you save will be immeasureable.
4. There is no such thing as a "teacup" Yorkie, so don't be misled by such a description. LEARN about the breed BEFORE you decide to adopt.
5. You will need to make arrangements to drive and meet the dog at the foster home which can be in New Jersey, western PA, Maryland,  etc. The dog's biography lists where the dog is fostering. We want you to meet the dog with your family and your dog, if you have one. This is a requirement for adoption.

WHAT IS THE ADOPTION FEE?
Adoption donations generally vary from dog to dog, it depends on the health, the age and the size of the dog.

Young Yorkies will have a higher adoption donation since they are the most highly sought after and they help to cover the costs of the older dogs who have a harder time finding a loving home. It is sad but true that people overwhelming demand very young dogs when they would be infinitely happier with a mellow adult.

 ADOPTION AREA

Save A Yorkie Rescue prefers to adopt only in the PA, NJ, western NY, DE, MD, VA, some CT area's. If you are in the NYC area or near Long Island, there is a Yorkie Rescue closer to you.

Be aware that you will be asked to drive to meet and pick up your dog.
