Find a penny, pick it up, all day long you'll have good luck - and you'll have good luck with our Penny if you DON'T pick her up. Look at that face. We think she is a Yorkie/Maltese mix. Our best guess of her age is 5 years old. She weighs about 7 pounds. She is NOT for a home with any children - she would not be good with them. She is very shy about being picked up. There must be some trauma in her past. She is too scared to have people pick her up. BUT if you bend down in front of her and place your hands under her belly to pick her up, she'll be just fine. She's had many visitors in and out of her foster home and as long as they don't try and pick her up, she has no problem at all. She does not like other dogs. Since she is the smallest in her foster home, she feels intimidated by all of the bigger dogs. Her foster mom says you hardly know she's there. She's a cuddler in bed at night - she doesn't get up until you get up. Which is a good thing! She has a good appetite and she sits now before she gets a treat after coming in from going potty. Penny is slow to warm up but once she does, she is a delight. So give her a little time to mellow with you. She is a dog for people who have experience with dogs. She needs a compassionate home with people who will allow her to be herself. She prefers NOT to be picked up. Most girls prefer to be loved without being picked up. She's just a little thing but she knows what she doesn't like. Could you allow her to be herself at your house? Call her foster mom today.
