Homer is a 3 yr. old, 22lb. yorkie (WOW!) with a huge personality as big as the rest of him. Softball (Homer) is full of life, playful, energetic and excitable. Are you a jogger? Looking for a bigger dog? Have we got the one for YOU! He gives lots of kisses, loves squeaky toys and stuffed animals, loves to sit on your lap, snuggle and sits quietly for his nightly brushing. He's cooperative and likes it once you get him in the bath. He will let you clean his ears and brush his teeth but getting him in the room can be quite a chore! He's smart and will run away if he thinks a bath is what you've planned! Softball /Homer walks well on a leash, understands sit, down, beg, paw, speak, stay, wait, lie down, roll over and go to bed. When you tell him to "get your toy" he will search his basket for just the right one and bring it to you for a game of fetch. He sleeps in a crate and lets you know when he wants out. Homer is a smart and loving pet who needs an experienced dog owner who won't be intimidated by his intelligence. He is loved and very well cared for by his present owner who is heartbroken that her home situation has changed and she can no longer care for him. Softball is up to date on his shots, on heartworm meds (interceptor) neutered and microchipped. We are looking for a home with a family who has experience with dogs, is very active, loves to walk and expects the dog to keep up. This is a special Yorkie and we hope you see him as special too. Please put in your application and let us know he is just what you have been looking for - A Yorkie as big as his personality. More about SoftballGood with Dogs Save A Yorkie Rescue, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) qualified non-profit organization operating on donations from Yorkie lovers who care. Please help by donating your tax deductible donations. OR mail your check or money order to YOUR generosity is appreciated! Young Yorkies will have a higher adoption donation since they are the most highly sought after and they help to cover the costs of the older dogs who have a harder time finding a loving home. It is sad but true that people overwhelming demand very young dogs when they would be infinitely happier with a mellow adult. ADOPTION AREA Save A Yorkie Rescue prefers to adopt only in the PA, NJ, western NY, DE, MD, VA, some CT area's. If you are in the NYC area or near Long Island, there is a Yorkie Rescue closer to you. |
