Hank

Hank is officially ours! We fell in love with him his very first day as a foster with us. It is like he had been here his whole life. Or at least it felt like he was waiting to be here his whole life. He is such a happy dog and we felt that it would have been unfair to him to continue the adoption process. He loves all the other dogs in the house and truly loves it here. We could not separate him from all his new friends and all the fun that he has been having since he arrived here. Hank is here to stay! Welcome aboard Hank! Congratulations Hank!!!

Hoda

Hoda, now Gracie, is in her new forever home with Cheryl and Chris. Chris and I spoke several times and he never waived in their interest for Hoda. When they visited Hoda, Cheryl and Chris were very mindful of the situation that she had come from and were very calm and patient with her. Chris sat down in the floor and proceeded to pull a treat out of his shirt pocket, now that is great planning and it worked! Hoda slowly walked across the floor and took the treat from him and then Cheryl followed suit. Although still a tad bit skittish, she was not afraid, as she normally has been. Cheryl and I text regularly and Hoda is doing well in her new furever home. Chris is retired and Cheryl recently retired as well, so Miss Hoda will be getting all the attention, cuddles and treats she so deserves. I am confident this little girl found a warm and loving home! Congratulations Hoda!!!

Hope

Sondra and Daniel arrived to meet Hope on Friday, February 7 in the early afternoon. I greeted them outside with Hope. They let Hazel out of the car. She greeted Hope and explored the yard. We let them sniff and get to know each other for a few minutes outside. Hope was over the moon with excitement. She had a new pup to play with!! Once we knew they were comfortable with each other we all went inside. Both dogs ran and explored the house and the toys. There isn’t a toy around Hazel doesn’t love and there were lots to love in this house. Hope showed Hazel all the places she isn’t usually allowed to explore by herself. They both were having a grand time. They chased and played with each other and the toys for 20 minutes. Sondra and Daniel were in love and so was Hazel. Hope loves everyone...all the time ... with gusto! When we agreed they liked each other and it was going to be a good fit, I asked if they wanted to get the paperwork done so they could be on their way. They answered yes excitedly. We got down to business quickly while Hope took a short timeout in her ex pen. Hazel hung out with the ‘big kids’ aka mom, dad and foster lady. Once all signatures were obtained and paperwork duplicated, dad took the girls out while mom and I got all the supplies together to make Hope’s transition a smooth one. I couldn’t forget her favorite chew toys and snuggly blanket. After the supplies were gathered we went outside and took a family photo with their newest addition! The first photo says it all. Hazel reached over and kissed her new baby sister!! Everyone was full of love and smiles. I know she is loved by some awesome people and a great dog! Congratulations Hope!!!

Haven

Haven is such a lucky little girl. She went to her forever home on 8 September 2019 with Teresa and Buffy. I could not have wished for a better home for her. She has a wonderful home with them where she is rarely alone and even now has a sister and I understand they love playing with each other. Her sisters name is Lacey so Haven's name became Cagney. I am not sure how many remember the show Cagney and Lacey about 2 strong women detectives but the show now has 2 yorkies named after it. Haven had a rough road for a bit while we worked to get her healthy, but she is now healthy happy and very much loved. Congratulations Haven!!!

Hot Coco

They say timing is everything and that was certainly the case in finding a forever home for Hot Coco (now Sultan). He had over 100 inquiries but wasn't 100% ready for adoption until just recently. And it wasn't until just recently that we came across the ideal family for him—Alexis, Mike, and Starbuck. Knowing Sultan's fear of meeting new people and dogs, we did initial introductions outside on neutral ground. There was a huge sigh of relief as the pups gave each other a friendly sniff, and once inside, Sultan welcomed everyone into his kingdom. He and Starbuck were soon playing on the couch and living room floor while we chatted with Alexis and Mike. Sultan responded well to his new parents walking him when we all went back outside, and at that point it was clear he was ready to leave the nest for his forever home. He was a little clingy towards us as we went over his paperwork (it's like he knew something was happening!) But we put on our brave faces, gave him many hugs and said goodbye—for now. We hope to meet up at a SAY event or set up a playdate in the future! This was our first "success" after "failing" with our first foster, Willy. We're so glad we had the chance to help Sultan with both his socialization and medical issues. He has grown so much over the past 3 months and we know he will continue to thrive with Alexis, Mike, and Starbuck. Congratulations Hot Coco!!!
