Pretty Pepper Pot Pepper has been with us a month now and we have all adjusted. The best thing we could hope for is that Lola is definitely happier to have a canine companion. Pepper keeps us on our toes much like a puppy and is escape artist. We are fine now leaving the two together, but rarely do both of us leave at same time. Pepper follows her dad all around and goes down to basement with him when he works, curled up in her bed. She sleeps with us as have all our dogs and has adjusted to our schedule. She devours her food and anytime someone goes in kitchen, she follows. Her 14th birthday will be celebrated on 7/16 two months after she arrived here. We were originally told she was 15 but even 14 is hard to believe. She acts like a puppy and certainly younger than Lola who is 12. Besides dad, squirrels are her main focus and she has gotten Lola into the act. Lola is losing her vision but is doing well. The Opaleks are again a multi-dog family. That is a good thing. Mary
Puff Daddy His new name is Rusty. He is newly adopted by John and Aileen Wade. They held him the whole way home on their laps - see the picture? Puffy Rusty ADORES his new mom, Ailene. She is his mom and she held him the whole trip home. He cuddles with her and knows she is his very own. John is an active young man! He took Rusty for a long walk to go potty - NOTHING like Rusty was used to. They RAN the mile home! Rusty, who wasn't used to such long distances and speeds, happily collapsed at home and was soon dreaming happy dog dreams. We have a picture of him being a happy dog! a tired dog IS a happy dog! See what we mean. I know I could take a lesson from this young man. Rusty is home and happy and his new family loves him. It is our rescue in action. Doing what we do for the dogs we love. Thank you to Kathlene Cilene for fostering him and hanging in there until he found his forever family.
Pip Squeak PiP now Pippa was adopted today by Nicole and John Seroky. She will have two new siblings to play with and harass. The Serokyâs have rescued before and are wonderful parents. Pip is in loving hands. She has been a pleasure and I will miss her! My little Pip Squeak is on the road to good health and a good forever life! Congratulations Pip Squeak, you are a very lucky girl!!!
Pauly Here is the photo of our family (Paulie and Satchel included - of course). We decided to foster Yorkies to allow us to love and care for a wonderful breed to find phenomenal homes. Little did we realize that when we picked Paulie up from his loving family from West Virginia would we end up adopting him less than a week later! Paulie was shy and reserved when meeting us, when he met our Lemon Beagle, Satchel, he just growled at him and stole Satchelâs beloved squeaky beaver toy. Satchel was so happy to have Paulie in our home, he continued to attempt to engage him in any kind of play. Satchel is a patient dog ⦠Paulie is a fast âninjaâ. He would be in one room and then the next minute he was in another. Paulie immediately attached to Patrick and one did not leave the room without the other. He loves to play fetch with any toy we pick up and throw ⦠he plays and interacts with Satchel as though they are long lost friends. Paulie loves to go on walks through the neighborhood, to the park and run around in the backyard. We realized he completed our family within 3 days and we loved him. We will attempt to do a better job as foster parents with the next one so another lucky family can feel the joy we do through loving a Yorkie. We are so happy that Paulie joined us for his forever home. Congratulations Pauly, you are a very lucky boy!!!
Playboy Playboy (aka, Buddy) is very happy in his new forever home with Gigi. Peter and Judy were a little apprehensive at first because Gigi doesn't always take kindly to new dogs. But the two of them bonded right from the start. At bedtime their beds were on opposite sides of the room, but Buddy was having none of that. He went right over and curled up next to Gigi's bed. Peter happily moved Buddy's bed and they've been side-by-side ever since. Congratulations Playboy, you are a very lucky boy!!! Click a letter to find an animal or view all.
