Pumpkin

Well I think I found the perfect parents for Pumpkin. She immediately was attracted to Brenda and sat on her lap the entire time during our Meet & Greet. After talking with them both I knew these were the right adopters for this sweet little girl. She will be the only dog so Pumpkin will get all the love and attention she deserves. When she was placed in her car set between Brenda and Rod for the ride home to Virginia Beach she looked like she was so happy. It made saying goodbye to this sweetheart so much easier. I’m sure she will have a great life! Congratulations Pumpkin!!!

Pixzee

The Toth Family lost their 2 Yorkies at the age of 16 last Fall. One of them was adopted years ago from SAYR. They decided it was time to rescue a new friend. After adoption approval and some emails and a few phone conversations, they met Pixzee. She is active, playful and a great companion! Pixzee was just the type of Yorkie the Toths were hoping for. After their meet and greet on Sunday, we all decided they were a great match. Pixzee is getting used to her new home where she has a wonderful, spacious fenced in yard to zoom around. As the only dog in their home, Pixzee is being treated like the princess she is! High “Paws” all around! Congratulations Pixzee!!!

Puzzles

Well, first foster/first fail, but we could not ask for a better dog to be with our Wesley. Puzzles finally melted Jeanie's heart by repeatedly jumping onto her lap to snuggle. That's all it took! Congratulations Puzzles!!!

Pippa

Around noon on the 9th, Barbara texted that she was almost at my house, so I got Pippa ready for a quick walk but as we rounded the corner of the house and stepped on to the driveway, Barbara car pulled up. Immediately, Pippa pulled on the leash and ran towards Barbara and her daughter! This was so out of character for Pippa, but it put my heart at ease to see her so excited to meet them. Both Barbara and her daughter dropped to their knees to pet Pippa while laughing and talking to her. After getting acquainted for a few minutes, we went into the house with Barbara and her daughter happily chatting about how cute Pippa was and doting on her. I must say, Pippa really put them to the test because while she was very welcoming and really seemed to like them, she also took the opportunity to show her mischievous side while demonstrating her climbing skills. I provided a brief history on Pippa warts and all! Then timidly asked if they wanted to complete the adoption application. Barbara looked at me and said there is no way I am leaving here without her. I feel like I was on autopilot for the rest of the meeting as we reviewed the adoption application and reviewed the contents of the goody bag I prepared for them. I did not think that my heart could handle watching them pull away with my sweet girl, so I said goodbye at the door. Once I shut the door, I could finally give in to my feelings until I realized that I forgot to take a picture of them! I raced out the door and ran over to their car. I imagine they were concerned about the crazy woman running towards their car and they probably assumed I was going to wrench Pippa from their arms. Relief flooded their faces when I explained that I simply forgot to take a picture. So, I am sitting at my desk with an empty lap and a sad heart typing my final update on Pippa but knowing that she has found her forever home with a wonderful family who will be able to stay home with her all day and knowing that I played a part in helping Pippa to trust more readily is more rewarding than I can say! Congratulations Pippa!!!

Prissie

We knew that we would immediately bond with Brutus and Prissie the moment we received them from the volunteer pilot flying for Pilots for Paws. After having lost our beloved long-time bonded threesome Heidi, Hugo, and Sabrina, all within the past 7 months, adopting Brutus and Prissie is already helping us heal. Lucky for us, the pair made the adjustment to their new home and surroundings seemingly effortlessly. We are so happy and thankful that Save a Yorkie Rescue gave us the opportunity to foster and then adopt this sweet little pair. We feel they are just perfect for us, and cannot imagine our lives without them. Love, Gigi, Ivar, Brutus, and Prissie. Congratulations Prissie!!!
