CeCe

I had fostered CeCe since right after Thanksgiving, 2023. She was my very first foster – and I failed! Cece was very shy, skittish, and hid under the bed. It took 2 weeks for her to come out from under the bed for me and required a highly valued treat! In the third week she would not let me out of her sight. I was so honored that she began to trust me! And it has only gotten better. I am her person, and she is mine. She has started to play a little, and she now will eat in front of me! She keeps improving every day. I could not let her go! I am very thankful to SAY for allowing me to foster her and adopt her. She brings me so much joy everyday! Congratulations CeCe!!!

Connor

Connor has officially been adopted by the Carlisle family and will now be known by his given name of Cody! Sometimes the smallest things take up the most room in your heart and this was certainly the case with Cody and our family. There were many conversations between my husband and me wondering if we could keep him, but ultimately we knew that he needed a home where he would get more time and attention than our work schedules - and our two current dogs – would allow. I knew when I got the email from Karen and Ryan Carlisle and read over their application, that I had found that home. Karen told me their hearts were still broken from recently losing their beloved Yorkie rescue, Bentley, to kidney disease after 7.5 years, but she then confessed “there is something about this sweet boy you are fostering that made me fill out that form and reach out to you. ”We are so thankful to SAYR for giving us the gift of time with Cody and to be part of his life story. We will miss him and love him always but we are so happy that Cody is now blessed with a family that will comfort him, love him, and give him the security of knowing that he has found his forever home! They will give him the best life possible and I know he’s on to bigger and better things! We are so happy for him and his new family! Congratulations Connor!!!

Confetti

We found the perfect forever home for sweet Confetti. Tim called and we spoke for a long time about he and his wife Julia’s life style, experience with their dog Zoey who passed away and how much they loved her. It was very obvious they would be loving “parents” for Confetti. At the meet and greet we felt even stronger that Julia and Tim was the family who could provide Confetti with love and understanding and a wonderful new home. Congratulations to Julia, Tim and Confetti.

Cheerio

Cheerio has found his forever home!! We had a wonderful visit with Joe and Nancy, Cheerio's new mom and dad. Within 1 minute, they knew he was going home with them. We visited for 4 hours and let Cheerio and his new sister get to know each other. We couldn't ask for a better forever family to adopt him! He made his journey to Reading, PA on Monday, the 16th, and has settled in. We love the pictures and videos they have been sending this week. They love Cheerio as much as we do, he's going to have a great life. Congratulations Cheerio!!!

Candee

Candee was adopted by Susan and Luigi from Pittsburgh Pa. They drove to meet Candee in Milton, De. They were familiar with the area and stayed at a local hotel. They had dinner on arrival Monday evening and visited and met Candee so they could see Candee's evening insulin preparation and injection. Candee was able to briefly meet them and give some cuddles. Susan had tears in her eyes when the left but knew she would be back in the morning to complete the adoption. Candee has come a long way from a very thin, weak newly diagnosed diabetic. Her sweet and loving personality were always present. Lynda Caridy was her foster to begin with but had plans and needed to have someone continue with managing her diabetes. That's when Candee came to me. She learned to potty outside and pads at night. We learned she loves people more than anything, she has joy in being outside and exploring with her person. As soon as the diabetes was controlled Candee had her surgery for a dental cleaning with several extractions, her microchip was placed and because she was diabetic her dewclaws were removed this way there will be no infections if one was torn during grooming or play. When the cone came off we went to the groomers. The Veterinarian, staff, groomers and everyone who met Candee wanted to adopt her. I am so grateful to the volunteers who do the home visits, call the Veterinarian s and phone interviews! Candee went to the perfect home! Susan told me she hasn't stopped smiling. At some point Susan spoke to Donna about Candee. We all knew the fit was perfect. Susan told me she couldn't meet Candee fast enough. She said having a diabetic dog in the past made the decision easy. Susan wanted a sweet companion, to be at her side Susan and Luigi text me daily to ask questions and to share happy moments. They are a perfect match! Congratulations Candee!
