A Roxanne

Hi! I’m Roxanne, but my friends and family call me Roxie. I grew up in a very loving home where I was an only pup. Sadly, my human mom became ill and now lives in a place where I’m not able to go with her. I was then taken in by a family friend (let’s call her “Auntie”), who showed me lots of love. Auntie also has a big dog, though, and he never quite understood that I am supposed to be the top dog. After trying really hard to make it work, Auntie decided it would be best for me to find a home where I could, as the saying goes, rule the roost. So Auntie reached out to the kind people at Save a Yorkie Rescue, and I’m now living with my new family near Harrisburg, PA. They tell me they had a Yorkie for ten wonderful years before he passed away in 2018, and I’m the first Yorkie they’ve welcomed into their home since. I feel very honored! So honored, in fact, that I allow them to give me belly rubs and cuddles—which I love, of course. My new momma is working hard to help me polish my manners. We’re practicing leash skills (I have places to go and people to see!), learning that I shouldn’t eat everything I find on the floor (I don’t eat my human big brothers’ socks, but they are fun to rip apart!), and reviewing commands like sit, stay, and come. I know them all—I just sometimes forget if Momma doesn’t have a treat in her hand. I’m loving all of the attention my new family gives me, and they seem to be loving all the attention I give them right back. I want to thank Save a Yorkie Rescue for everything they did to help me find my forever home. Momma says SAYR is full of caring people who work incredibly hard to find the best parents for Yorkies, and I think they did a wonderful job helping me find my family. Congratulations Roxie!!!
