Bohde

Little Bohde became a “foster failure” on September 3rd. He has been renamed Bon Jovi and answers to Jovi. He came into his foster from a Humane Society after his owner could no longer care for him. He is 11 years old, weighs 6 pounds and has no teeth. Initially, he had trust issues, not allowing anyone to pick him up. He would bite when touched. An xpen was used in his training, where he felt safe. Foster mom spent many hours beside the pen, talking to Jovi and reassuring him that his life would be ok. The vet wanted him to gain some weight, so a lot of effort was put into nutrition, which also resulted in improved behavior after two months’ time. During his time as a foster, he received up to date vaccinations as well as neutering. His fearful attitude slowly improved after many consultations with SAY members who were so supportive when I became discouraged. Jovi loves long walks with Foster sister, Roo. He displays an attitude of joyousness during his walk, sniffing and peeing on every mailbox. He tells us when he needs to go out and does a good job listening. He has picked up two ounces and seems healthy. He displays the characteristic Yorkie twirl when he wants something. I decided he should not go through this all over again, since his separation had caused so much anxiety. He is well loved by his new mom, Janet, as well as friends and family. Congratulations Bohde!!!

Bella Grace

On Monday May 3rd Bella met her new mommy and the final stop in her beautiful life. Waiting in the wings and unknown to so many was Phyllis. For so long Phyllis had tried again and again to find her forever fur baby to be by her side and allow her to give the love and affection she so wanted to share. There were so many attempts only to result in a message that she received again and again sorry that dog is not available. Then after so much disappointment and the reality that good comes to those that wait was little Ms. Bella Grace! As a foster mother and adopter (foster failure) of three beautiful babies I can only say that this was the perfect adoption. I wish I could share with you the video taken by Phyllis friend Stacey while driving to my house for the meet and greet. It would absolutely bring tears to your eyes ( it did mine) of the joy that this 80 year old woman showed in anticipation of meeting Bella. Stacey and I stayed in touch repeatedly and with pictures and videos sent to me over 2 days it was absolutely clear that this was a match made in heaven! I am and will continue to be overjoyed by this adoption. I know first hand what hard work and dedication goes into ensuring the best placement of our rescues and the money spent to absolutely ensure that the dogs get the best possible medical attention. Those not involved In this process would absolutely be amazed! Congratulations Bella Grace!!!

Brutus

We knew that we would immediately bond with Brutus and Prissie the moment we received them from the volunteer pilot flying for Pilots for Paws. After having lost our beloved long-time bonded threesome Heidi, Hugo, and Sabrina, all within the past 7 months, adopting Brutus and Prissie is already helping us heal. Lucky for us, the pair made the adjustment to their new home and surroundings seemingly effortlessly. We are so happy and thankful that Save a Yorkie Rescue gave us the opportunity to foster and then adopt this sweet little pair. We feel they are just perfect for us, and cannot imagine our lives without them. Love, Gigi, Ivar, Brutus, and Prissie. Congratulations Brutus!!!

Brandon

Brandon was adopted on 8/20/21 to a wonderful adopter named Debbi. As I prepared for Brandon's adoption, I felt that familiar sense of loss. I didn't realize I would miss him quite as much as I do! But, Debbie is a wonderful match for Brandon. She did not shy away from his special needs and showers him with many wonderful toys and treats. She even bought a puppy sling like foster mom used!! When she came for her meet and greet, she brought some lovely dog boutique bakery treats for him that looked good enough for foster mom to eat. But, no such luck. They were all for Brandon!! Brandon is a tiny dog who was abandoned at the local animal shelter in a box after hours. Save A Yorkie Rescue offered to foster him and look for a great home. After several phone calls and emails, a perfect match was found. Brandon couldn’t have asked for a better home. Brandon is mostly blind, he loves to be held and just wants to spend time with his person. Enter Debbi, the perfect match! She works from home and will be there to take care of his every need. She was already in love before she even met him and when she came to foster moms home it was confirmed. He was going home with her! Brandon is now the king of his castle with treats and squeaky toys. Foster mom has even sent a video of him playing! What a joy to see! Good Luck Brandon! You are a lucky pup! Congratulations Brandon!!!

Bundles

Bundles aka Buddy was adopted 7/27 to a wonderful couple, Catriona and Terry. They had wanted him all along. When they arrived at my home, I met them outside with Buddy. Catriona got right down in the grass to greet him and she started getting teary-eyed. Buddy did bark at Terry. They immediately took him for a nice walk. We went inside and Buddy was all over them both, giving kisses... he was warming up to Terry! We went over everything and signed the paperwork. It was official... Buddy was going home! Excitement everywhere as he jumped into their car for the 2 hour drive home. I got teary-eyed then.... will miss the little bugger. Spoke with Catriona today and she explained how he was already comfortable. They have been going for a lot of walks and have been meeting neighbors and other dogs. He still occasionally barks at her husband, but she feels they will be best buddies before long. He slept in their bed most of the night and has been eating just fine. She will be introducing him to her own Vet this week. We will stay in touch. Everyone is happy! Congratulations Bundles!!!
